The Lizard and The Limbo

What a life to live,
Of unfulfilled dreams,
And broken promises,
Standing over my head,
As I lay under the squeaking fan,
Wishing the lizard would fall over me,
And free me of this limbo.

The images,
Of her hair blowing in the wind,
Death hunting a friend,
A limping dog,
And an education gone wrong;
Passing as a shooting star,
And you call these experiences,
I dare not call you anything.

Oh lizard! I damn you,
Throw yourself but not the tail,
It's not the tail that I had asked for,
Then why did I get the tail for a lizard?
It's not a lie that we live,
Yes but what shall be the truth then,
If it's not a lie that we live.

If To Suffer Is My Destiny …

If to suffer is my destiny,
Then let it be so,
Vivid and known;
And let it be so,
For every skull and bone;
That I will suffer,
With anguish and ail,
Suffer with hope fermenting into pain;
Suffer until your vague hallucinations,
Turn into you,
Like the mist distills into dew.
